HVAC Technical Service Manager

Mountain Air Conditioning and Heating specializes in maintaining, repairing, and installing residential and small commercial HVAC equipment. Because of this, we are recruiting for an HVAC Technical Service Manager at our Ogden, UT location where we provide a positive growth culture and a fantastic team environment.

Under limited supervision, the HVAC Technical Service Manager will support operations through onsite training, field training, and technical support. In a position combining technical and leadership skills, the HVAC Technical Service Manager will ensure that Mountain Air technicians are the most qualified in the area.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure core values are directing all actions and decisions.
  • Ensure quality, service, safety, productivity, KPI goals, and results are being met and communicated.
  • Supervise and direct HVAC technicians to effectively perform equipment repair, start-up, and operation.
  • Ensure tools and uniforms are clean, well kept, and maintained.
  • Ensure vehicle & tool stock levels are optimal.
  • Solve technical problems beyond normal operations capabilities. Initiate, analyze, recommend, and communicate solutions to technicians and management.
  • Accompany technicians on callbacks as needed for training and quality.
  • Review reports.
  • Create and improve ServiceTitan online forms and checklists to improve communication and quality.
  • Ensure overall quality and safety processes and procedures are in place and followed. Train service technicians with ability levels ranging from new, to maintenance, to service, and then to upper-level proficiencies.
  • Review and teach at weekly service meetings.
  • Answer technical and logistical questions from field personnel team by phone and in person.
  • Consistently meet with technicians to review, teach, and improve future performance.
  • Consistently meet with operations manager, service manager, and install manager to teach and provide feedback.
  • Ensure best practices (per Lennox, RMGA, EPA, NATE, ACCA, etc.) are understood and followed.
  • Plan group and/or individual trainings, ride alongs, and meetings accordingly.
  • Determine which callbacks are a priority for a consultation/feedback.
  • Always remain curious; be aware of potential problems and/or teaching opportunities Listen to team and customers. * Contribute to the overall company culture sharing best practices, ethical behavior, and employee development.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to recommend corrective actions.
  • Submit any required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Work in a safe manner daily and ensure that all safety measures are always taken.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
  • Highly motivated to achieve goals and excellence.
  • Passion for teaching, learning, and sharing knowledge.
  • NATE, EPA, and RMGA certifications required or must be obtained within 1 year of employment.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 7+ years hands on residential HVAC experience strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Moderate lifting.
  • Proficient with computers and able to learn company software.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to self-schedule on occasion and work independently as required.
