This position has the option to work in-office or hybrid with the requirement to come to the office as needed. Employees need to be willing and able to commute to our offices biweekly at minimum, more often as needed. Training will be conducted in person at the office in Easton, PA.

We are looking for an Industrial Designer who possesses this same passion for the home décor industry to join our design team.

The ideal candidate is a creative, self-motivated team player who can work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment to create product design solutions to address project needs from conceptual renderings to technical specs.

Key responsibilities:

• Knowledge and passion for the home décor industry. Stay on top of new styles and influences and provide a perspective on changing interior design trends and new product development in domestic and global markets through research on social media, online and in-store retailer visits, and attending trade shows. Must possess an ability to understand current home fashion and consumer buying trends and how to translate into successful product development.
• Ability to create innovative design solutions including realistic product renderings for customer presentations and technical construction drawings using 3D CAD software while adhering to fit, form and function requirements as well as manufacturing capabilities. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and 3ds Max is a plus.
• Ability to clearly communicate with domestic and overseas manufacturers on design issues and materials as they relate to product design through verbal and written communication and detailed drawings.
• Commitment to learn about production processes through independent research, training and sample reviews. Retaining and applying learned information to future projects to help ensure accuracy of construction specs. Ambition to develop solutions in challenging or new categories in home décor as well as pricing goals.
• Collaborating and communicating with product design and graphic design teams as well as product managers to complete initiatives efficiently and achieve goals on team projects.
• Time management skills and discipline to maintain focus and productivity to deliver best results in hybrid office and remote work environment. Ability to manage workflow and successfully meet deadlines.
• Dedication to taking any necessary steps to perform projects to deliver best results. Working in office as much as necessary to use available tools and resources for most efficient workflow.
• Performing a wide range of product development tasks, responding to changes in direction and priorities and accepting new challenges, responsibilities and assignments.
• Ability to learn and adapt to changing systems, processes and programs to perform duties of product designer and address changing demands in home décor industry.
• Provide support to sales as design consultant at major presentations as needed.

The Industrial Designer must be able to communicate effectively when dealing with other associates, supervisors, managers, customers and suppliers. Verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to communicate trends and product design elements are top priority.

The Industrial Designer must be able to perform the physical tasks of the position. This position works in a hybrid office/remote environment. Handling samples and working extended periods in front of a computer are a must.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Product or Industrial Design, with experience in consumer product industry or equivalent design expertise. Minimum 1 year experience in a work-related field or internship, preferably product design performing similar functions.
