Essential Job Functions

  • Executes on long-term strategic plans for the building layout and all factory support systems (cleanroom controls, water supply systems, gas supply systems, and electrical systems) based on capacity, capability, and cost requirements as defined by the factory leadership team.
  • Executes tactical project plans using project management tracking/reporting tools that appropriately balance scope, cost, and schedule as requested by key stakeholders.
  • Monitor and control the performance, capacity, and uptime of critical facilities infrastructure systems (clean rooms, HVAC, humidity, water, and compressed gases).
  • Maintains building site and operations in accordance with governing regulations and safety codes.
  • Manages both scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Responsible for executing facilities related corrective and preventative action requests from operations, engineering, or quality department stakeholders.
  • Prepares RFQs and contracts for construction and facilities acquisitions. Reviews and estimates design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and other related costs.
  • Prepares budget estimates for building renovations and/or space allocations. Evaluates completed work and validates conformance to specifications.

Specialized Skills

  • Experience supporting microfabrication process equipment facility requirements, installation, and qualification; direct experience with cleanroom design and operations preferred (thermal, humidity and particle controls).
  • Project management of significant budgets and complexity; Design and operation of H-4 occupancy facilities a plus.
  • Direct experience in specification, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems and equipment.
  • Skilled using Microsoft Office and basic computer skills; especially MS Project, Excel and Power Point.

  • Able to support efforts of cross-functional teams and manage internal projects including project planning
  • Excellent personal computing skills, particularly Microsoft Office

Education
8 yrs related experience or 5yrs with a technical degree or 2yrs with bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, or Chemical, Engineering degree. Candidates with alternative education or training considered with demonstrated experience.
Supervisor Responsibilities
This position is an individual contributor role. Lead functions that support operator performed maintenance of the physical plant, process equipment, IT infrastructure and Environmental Health and Safety are expected.
Language Skills
Must be able to communicate in English; written and verbal. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, contractors, and potentially customers.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Job Skills/Type Of Person
Must be self-motivated and aggressive in the pursuit of facilities and operational deliverables and must be able to function effectively in a busy environment and willing to work hours (with some travel) that are outside the norm. Must have exceptional work ethic, and the ability to manage and maximize time and company resources. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements
Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses are required for the job when in the manufacturing areas
WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
This is an air-conditioned facility with many pieces of equipment that produce heat and/or utilize hazardous/toxic chemicals. The following are potential environmental items encountered: fumes, pinch hazards, energy hazards (e.g. laser light), noise, and/or hazardous/toxic chemicals. Appropriate training is provided and documented based on job placement that complies with OSHA and EPA regulations.
