Information Technology Manager

Preferred Title, LLC. is looking for an Information Technology Manager to join our team!

The IT Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the IT function. This includes serving as a consultant to management on IT related issues, managing the IT team, and maintaining the IT infrastructure.

Highly qualified candidates would be considered for the title of IT Director.

Preferred Title is one of the oldest providers of title insurance in Dane County and we take pride in our long history of providing quality service. We are a full service title company for both residential and commercial real estate transactions providing: title insurance, real estate closings, construction disbursements and other related services.

Essential Functions

IT Projects and Planning

  • Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting progressive strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends and anticipating requirements.
  • Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services.
  • Provide accurate reports and metrics to company management on the status and budget of on-going projects and agreements.
  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
  • Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software.
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs.
  • Implement and update software systems used for business operations.

IT Team Management

  • Manages IT staff by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results, coaching, counseling, and mentoring employees, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • In conjunction with HR, manages the recruitment, selection and training of new IT staff maintaining a professional, safe and secure work environment.

IT Infrastructure and Network Administration

  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) of all systems related programs – managing servers, routers, and proprietary software.
  • Act as Tier III Tech Support – Help Desk/IT Issue Management, ensuring our team of Technology staff have the tools to perform required work, with minimal downtime, which includes process for escalation of helpdesk issues, and ticket resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Research & integration of new technologies, to enhance performance, security and features.
  • Install/configure/support server installations on both physical and virtual environments.
  • Install/configure/support network installation & equipment (HP/Aruba/Shoretel/Netgear/APC).
  • Performs structured wiring and implements switches, routers, firewalls, IP structures and security.
  • Install/configure/support telecommunications equipment (ShoreTel).
  • Monitor system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Ensure security, compliance and privacy of networks and computer system with security procedures and standards.
  • Install and administer commercial and proprietary software.
  • Involved in IT projects as a resource for completing technical tasks or acting as technical lead.
  • Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without minimizing impact.
  • Manages access to company remote services (VPN).
  • Maintains services including Microsoft Office 365, Security, User Management, DNS, DHCP, Endpoint Protection and Print Services.
  • Maintains Microsoft Windows Active Directory Network with Windows Servers.
  • Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule (IT Ticketing system - JIRA).
  • Performs and validates backups of network systems.
  • Technology Setup support (workstations, software, routers, printers, backup systems etc), including onboarding training of new staff on IT systems, as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ Years of IT experience required.
  • 2+ yeas of management experience preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Experience in systems and network configuration, development, and implementation.
  • Experience working in a financial environment.
  • Demonstrated achievement and progressive responsibilities in executing multiple concurrent projects, providing technical leadership in infrastructure architecture and design.
  • Demonstrated skills in translating business requirements into technical specifications, project management, and providing technical leadership to IT Professional staff.
  • Proven ability to clearly and effectively communicate business and technical information, both verbally and in writing.
  • Exceptional customer focus and customer service skills.

*Some travel may be requested to affiliate locations in south-central Wisconsin.

*Hours of position: Monday through Friday; 8:00a to 5:00p, extra time as needed
