What’s the Role?
As part of Loggerhead’s Information Technology (IT) team, the IT Developer\Software Engineer is responsible for utilizing and maintaining technical and applications expertise, including the use of technologies, tools, programming standards, established processes, and concepts necessary to develop quality IT solutions for the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry.
A Day in the Life could include:
· Develop and deliver solutions which meets established standards as well as expectations for performance, business impact, and user experience.
· Understand and apply agile development best practices, and other approaches for iterative development of production-ready software.
· Focus on test-driven development practices and leverage CI/CD standards and best practices.
· Follow policies for secure code development and engage in secure coding practices.
· Identify continuous improvement opportunities to automate development, provisioning, and release work to accelerate and improve the quality of solutions delivery.
· Effectively solution problems in a manner that supports future changes, growth, and scalability.
· Work closely with business and technical teams to create new capabilities and explain complex concepts.
· Remain current with new technologies.
What You'll Need to be a Top Candidate:
Skills
· Should be passionate about programing.
· Strong data structure fundamentals using JSON, Node JS, HTML, CSS, and Liquid.
· Experience in software architecture patterns and able to understand how a wide variety of technologies and systems interact with each other.
· Proven track record in enterprise-wide API management, microservices, event-driven architectures and complex integrations, understanding of data types and data structures.
· Strong analytical & problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
· Ability to handles complex problems independently and demonstrate analytical thinking.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and Agile development environment.
· Enthusiastic, disciplined, organized, and self-motivated.
Knowledge & Experience
· 5+ years developing Production code for a web-facing product in a full-stack, frontend, or solutions role, preferably for the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry.
· 3+ years of solutions development experience (FE preferred) using JavaScript frameworks (Angular\React) and HTML\CSS.
· Experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs.
· Experience implementing web solutions following UX and UI best practices.
· Proficient with CI/CD practices and Production deployment leveraging GIT and Azure DevOps Pipelines and Repositories.
· Experience with build tools like Maven.
· Experience developing API documentation from YAML or JSON with tools such as Swagger.
· Exposure to Azure cloud technologies.
· Knowledge of Low Code platform development ecosystems including views, layouts, RDOs, agents, APIs, and event handlers.
· Experience with backend development using Spring Boot framework is a plus.
· Working knowledge of leading test automation frameworks (e.g. Selenium).
· Experience and understanding of regulatory requirements and frameworks such as PCI, NIST, CIS, and OWASP.
Education & Certifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another related field.
Location: Hybrid work environment which splits time working remotely and at our Tampa, FL headquarters.
Working Conditions: Normal business hours. May be required to work flexible hours and/or weekends.
Travel: May be required to travel to other domestic locations (primarily in Florida) up to 10% of the time.
