IT Help Desk Technician

Compensation: $40,000-$45,000/year

Description

Warren County is looking for a proficient help desk technician with knowledge on working within a corporate domain system. The help desk technician will be responsible for providing technical assistance with computer systems, hardware, and software. As the help desk technician, you are responsible for responding to emails, tickets, phone calls, and offering support to customers using computer systems, hardware, and software.

To be a successful help desk technician, you should be well versed in all aspects of computer systems configuration, setup, and maintenance. You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Respond to queries on the phone, via email, via ticket, in person, or through remote access.
• Offer technical assistance on delivery, configuration, set up, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computer systems
• Train end-users
• Write and edit training documents
• Write and edit process documentation
• Install computer, server, and software updates.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and their remedies
• Install computer and server obsolescence replacements
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Asset Inventory
• Help plan and facilitate capital purchases
• Run and terminate cable (ethernet and coax (RG-59))
• Monitor various system logs (backups, antispam, firewall)

Requirements:

• 2 years of help desk experience OR 1 year of help desk experience and an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or Computer field OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer field
• A strong working knowledge or computer systems, hardware, and software
• Experience working in a domain environment
• Knowledge of Domain server environment (Server 2016,2019)
• Must be able to pass a full FBI/Pennsylvania State Police background and remain in good standing to acquire CJIS Level 4 certification
• Must be willing to be finger printed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to type 50+ words per minute
• Basic networking understanding
• In depth knowledge of Windows 10 and 11 Pro
• Must be able to work in a high stress environment and respond quickly to Court related computer situations
• Skilled with Microsoft Office
• Desire to learn
• Experience in research (for troubleshooting steps)

Nice to have:

• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA Network+
• CompTIA Security+
• Experience with Spiceworks ticketing
• Experience with domain user account setup
• Experience with on-premise Microsoft Exchange
• Experience working in County or Local Government
