Eaton’s Electrical GEIS Division is currently seeking a Janitor (1st Shift, 8:00am-4:30pm) to join our Facilities Team in Reno, NV facility. This is a full time, direct hire position. Compensation for this role begins at $18.24 / hour.

Position Overview:

The Janitor is responsible for general cleaning tasks throughout the facility and maintenance of cleaning supplies inventory levels.

In this function you will:

• Perform cleaning and sanitation of the facility including cafeterias, break areas, bathrooms, and hallways, etc.
• Clean, sanitize, and refill inventory for all plant restrooms
• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors in break areas, cafeterias, bathrooms, hallways, offices & etc.
• Operate cleaning systems and equipment as trained and specified (i.e. vacuums, floor scrubbers, etc.)
• Help organize and maintain closets and storage areas
• Prepare all cleaning solutions required for the sanitation of the facility
• Properly track the use of all chemical cleaning agents, paints, and supplies that are removed from plant inventory
• Responsible to accurately communicate utilization of cleaning supplies and request issuance of those consumed items via the plant established procedure
• Maintain recycle bins and trash and periodic deep cleaning of office areas, break rooms, and other areas as assigned
• Exterior cleaning to include along building, windows, grounds & parking lot in all weather conditions
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Performs other janitorial duties as required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
• No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Reno, NV facility. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ months of previous facilities/janitorial experience

Position Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format in English.
• Basic computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office)
• Ability to work with limited or no supervision
• Follow safe work practices per government and corporate safety standards

Physical Demands:

• Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift: kneeling, bending, and climbing required
• Able to work at heights of up to 40 feet above the floor
• Able to regularly lift 35 pounds without assistance
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy and procedure
• Exposure to high noise level (ear protection may be required in some areas)
• Exposure to high traffic areas with forklift activity
• Indoor and outdoor exposure to weather
• Work environment exposes to oils, lubricants, and solvents
