Scope of the position: The Facilities Engineer provides engineering services in support of all Jeneil Biotech facilities. With an emphasis on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, this position provides support as needed for general building issues and construction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide and coordinate mechanical systems design, installation, compliance, and reliability services on an as needed basis for all facilities with emphasis in:
  • Ammonia refrigeration systems, including responsibility for Jeneil’s OSHA PSM and EPA RMP compliance
  • Compressed air systems
  • Boiler and steam systems
  • Wastewater and water supply systems
  • HVAC systems
  • Piping and ducting systems
  • Fire Protection systems
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Energy management and facility cost savings
  • Providing design direction to assure best office, warehouse, or function food plan designs at best cost
  • Assist with management of contractors to secure best quality of work at best cost
  • Assist with management of consultant engineer/architect base to secure best cost quality services
  • Serve as major contributor to development and maintenance of Jeneil’s facility construction and design standards while keeping abreast of latest technology to further improve cost or performance of facility systems
  • Develop cost effective systems
  • Provide building systems support and services for all Jeneil facilities:
  • Identify opportunities for building system improvements
  • Coordinate training for mechanical systems or other building systems as needed
  • Identify with plant staff capital building needs and budgeted costs
  • Assist with federal and state regulatory needs for environmental compliance (wastewater, air, stormwater permitting, etc.)
  • Financial responsibilities for all assigned projects:
  • Provide breakdown of all construction invoicing in accordance with tax categories as directed by the accounting department
  • Assure all invoicing is correct and verifies work billed has been completed as contracted
  • Provide accurate estimates within the range stated
  • Assure timely processing of invoicing and cost requests
  • Manage department inventory
  • Locate key suppliers, negotiate purchasing agreements, and ensure materials and products meet required specifications
  • Project management:
  • Preparation of scope, specifications, bidding, creating purchase order requests, invoice control, and other related activities
  • Manage project deliverable to stay within scope, schedule, and cost budget of project
  • Act as Capital Appropriation Request (CAR) Project Manager on mechanical systems or other building projects
  • Maintain project documents to ensure accurate information is distributed
  • Maintain technical documents such as blueprints and reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:

  • Technical-based Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant area (e.g., Mechanical, Chemical Engineer)
  • 3-5 years progressive engineering experience with emphasis and exposure within the mechanical engineering area

Competencies:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Understanding of functional criteria for control systems, power systems, and electronic device selection
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with CAD systems
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively with resourcefulness, originality, and initiative
  • Ability to handle frequent change or unexpected delays in a professional manner
  • Ability to work flexible schedule

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, or climb
  • Ability to frequently grip, reach, lift, or pull with left or right hands

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $78,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
