MARINE OFFICER- JUDGE ADVOCATE DIVISION **Bar License Required

A Marine Judge Advocate practices law as a commissioned officer in the Marine Corps for a time period of at least 4 years- gaining experience across a broad spectrum of legal issues to include Civil, Family, Tort, International, and Law of Armed Conflict. After completion of Officer Candidate School (boot camp not required), a new officer will attend 6 months of The Basic School (full pay status at this time) and complete their education studying the Uniform Code of Military Justice for 10 weeks before taking control of a legal team of enlisted Marine paralegals. New Judge Advocates can expect to enter the courtroom shortly after completion of their training.
