Zepto Life Technology seeks to innovate and develop a highly sensitive and multiplexed immunoassay and molecular diagnostics technology platform that can quickly diagnose diseases and determine medical interventions using a handheld device.

Summary
Zepto is searching for an innovative, deadline-driven mechatronics engineer to join our team. The mechatronics engineer’s responsibilities include improving existing mechanical systems, developing new product concepts and prototypes, designing and testing mechanical and electronic systems, and developing various automated systems. To be successful as a mechatronics engineer, you should be able to work within demanding timeframes and develop original, practical solutions to problems. Outstanding candidates draw on a wide range of engineering principles and are not afraid to wander into unchartered territory.

Essential Duties

• Engineering support for new product design and development, review and optimize existing products.
• Develop modular electro-mechanical systems using computer-aided design software from engineer specifications, define manufacturing and assembly processes, assemble, and test the assembly
• Build low power (12-24V) motion control system using knowledge of microprocessors, PLC, electronics, motors, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
• Build and test integrated electro-mechanical systems and improve the system by making design changes.
• Create automation program and software for the electro-mechanical systems with team support.
• Conduct research, document findings, and present reports at meetings.
• Troubleshoot the system and conduct root cause analysis of the electromechanical system.
• Interface with the cross-functional project team to ensure design requirements are met and the product meets quality standards.
• Coordinate activities with suppliers to ensure the delivery of supplies or services needed to meet scheduled timelines.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience

• BSc, MS in mechatronics, mechanical, electrical engineering, or similar.
• 5+ years of compact or embedded electro-mechanical system development experience
• Proven evidence of embedded system integration experience.
• 2+ years of experience in CAD software, electrical measurement and troubleshooting tools
• 2+ years of experience with automation design and development
• Strong logical, analytical, and creative thinking skills.
• Ability to work in a team or alone.
• Self-starter with a passion for product development.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Medical Device, Lab, and/or Biotechnology experience.
