We are seeking Nurse Practitioners NP to provide care in Corrections.

What you’ll do

• Perform physical exams, order appropriate laboratory tests and other diagnostic tests, interpret results, formulate treatment and document thoroughly.
• Direct and monitor quality assurance projects.
• Provide supervision of the assessment and diagnostic skills of the medical staff.
• Conduct sick call, emergency treatment, or chronic care clinics
• Prescribe medications from the formulary using applicable guidelines and policies
• Perform minor medical procedures such as suturing, incision and drainage of abscesses and other procedures within your scope of practice.
• Provide emergency medical coverage such as basic life support and lifesaving procedures for emergencies such as cardiac arrest.
• Assist in pre and post operative care.
• Other duties as assigned – Nurse practitioner/mid-level provider duties and patient types will vary depending on assignment

What you’ll need

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and a Nurse Practitioner license valid for the state of Colorado, full prescriptive authority (RXN) as issued by the State of Colorado (DORA) and the DEA is required.
• Professional Insurance.
• 1 year of patient care experience, some positions may require additional experience
• An understanding and compassionate personality with the ability to work with diverse populations
• Must complete a background check; backgrounds must be clear of any felony convictions
