POSITION OVERVIEW

Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape, Inc. is looking for an in-office Construction Operations Manager with a General B License from the CSLB to manage the company’s overall construction and installations efforts. Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Manager manages the operations team, ensuring all projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner and budgets are met. The successful candidate has experience in the hardscape/landscape/home improvement industry and will help scale the organization for growth.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the overall construction and installation activities at Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape, Inc.
• Manage the day-to-day Coordination and Field Operations teams, ensuring approved Standard Operating Procedures are followed
• Evaluate current operations and recommend changes to increase efficiency
• Monitor and enact practices to ensure monthly Installed Revenue Budgets are met
• Work with Operations Management to achieve departmental success and achieve all gross profit goals
• Must effectively and professionally communicate with end clients in updates, project questions, timelines, conflict resolution, and installation expectations
• Proactively track and help to ensure customer satisfaction for all projects
• Reconcile and approve crew invoices
• Work with their team to provide installation and service forecasts
• Ensure Preliminary Gross Profit, Purchase Orders & Scheduling are executed properly
• Recruit and assist in the training of new and existing crews
• Develop and maintain quality control monitoring and methods in measuring each installation team’s performance
• Develop and maintain best in industry installation practices for all installations lines
• Lead, manage, and mentor the operations team
• Develop strong relationships with all vendors in securing best opportunities for the company
• Develop department, team and individual KPIs
• Manage the day to day operations of the Operations department
• Create, maintain and update various operational reports to the CEO
• Work with the CEO to evaluate and consistently improve operational efficiencies
• Negotiate final payments and settlements with escalated clients
• Provide and present construction educational resources to Project Design Specialists as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Current General B license from the CSLB
• Experience in the hardscape/landscape industry with product and procedures knowledge
• Effective communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Experience in the direct supervision, recruitment, training and development of others
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to create and cultivate a positive team environment
• Professional in both demeanor and written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of paver stone installation, block walls, drainage, landscaping, etc.
• Experience working directly with clients in a customer service capacity
• Ability to create basic construction drawings and interpret landscape drawings
• Knowledge of encroachment and building permitting
• Computer literate and savvy with expert knowledge of of MS Office, Google Docs, Gmail
• Minimum of 5 years managing a large multi-dimensional organization
• Preferred: ICPI Certified and English/Spanish bilingual
• Must be able to work onsite in the San Jose, CA office

EDUCATION:

• BA/BS degree with applicable major or equivalent. Master’s preferred.
• Current General B license from the CSLB.

COMPENSATION

Base pay is $90,000-$120,000 annual with performance bonuses available. In addition, Black Diamond provides medical, dental and vision benefits for full time employees; paid vacation, holidays and sick time; and a 401(k) Plan with a company match.
