RJTB Package Engineering/Development – Manager

Responsibilities include managing and leading a diverse set of clients/brands/projects with a focus on product/package engineering and development from ideation through delivery of a finished good.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coordination and project management of multiple projects supporting a diverse set of clients from concept to delivery.
  • Responsible for preliminary BOM/Cost estimate as well as sending complete RFQ’s to vendor base for competitive bidding based on your knowledge of supplier capabilities.
  • Develop and use best practices to direct artwork creation so that it is done as per print capabilities.
  • Own print approval process across all printers/clients
  • Work with primary component suppliers to create, review and approve technical part drawings inclusive of all part tolerance stack ups to ensure form/fit/function.
  • Review and assess factors that affect design decisions such as manufacturing tolerances, material selection, part tolerances, product usage and cost.
  • Responsible for completion of all package compatibility and functional testing
  • Complete assigned projects on time and on cost that meets or exceeds customer expectations internal and external.
  • Work with suppliers, mold makers, Product Development and other departments to resolve design development, manufacturing, quality and service issues.
  • Foster close cooperative relationships with all functions in the company and with external clients, suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Responsible for quality of new launch and replenishment in your assigned categories/brands
  • Continuous exploration of innovation to present both internally and externally.
  • Management of a direct report(s) inclusive of direction, education and mentorship
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of Packaging component library as well as FG library for all client launches.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from accredited university or college in Packaging Engineering and/or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years in consumer goods package engineering/development, preferred personal care/fragrance industry.
  • Client facing subject matter expert and project lead both internally and externally.
  • Ability to lead technical exploration and provide technical advice to both internal and external associates.
  • Ability to identify, problem solve and interpret complex engineering problems.
  • High proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word. Preferred - Solidworks and Adobe Illustrator
  • Ability to lead cross functional and client conversations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $135,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
