Seeking highly motivated and experienced Physician Assistant to join our established Gastroenterology practice in Rome, GA. Gastroenterology experience is preferred. Open to new graduates with proven history of excellence during clinical training or other clinical experience serving patients with GI disorders/illness.

Scope of practice in this position includes:

• Treating adults (age 17 and over) for conditions related to the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, to include but not limited to GERD, liver disease, abdominal pain, constipation, diarhhea, IBS, IBD, gastro paresis and GI bleeding. On occasion we will see younger patients in the hospital for consults.
• M-Th, morning clinic is 8 am to 11 am; afternoon clinic is 1 pm to 4 pm. Friday clinic will be 8:30 am to 11:30 am. In the mornings, position will help round at one of the hospitals or both if necessary.
• Taking call with physician. See consults and prepare assessments and patient history for the physician.

Typical call rotation is one-week day every week and every 4th weekend. Holiday call divided among all practice physicians and rotated every four years.

Schedule for call (this schedule is subject to change depending on physician schedules):

• Week 1: Office based schedule x 3 days, 1 hospital day with reduced clinic once fully trained and acclimated to system, and Friday office schedule in AM
• Week 2: Office based schedule x 3 days, 1 hospital day, no office on Friday (on call)
• Week 3: Office based schedule x 3 days, 1 hospital day, no office (off day)
• Week 4: Office based schedule x 3 days, 1 hospital day with reduced clinic once fully trained and acclimated to system, and Friday office schedule in AM
