Qualifications for Physician Assistants in Neurosurgery

• We are looking for a NCCPA Board Certified graduate Physician Assistant, with an active certificaiton through ARC-PA, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in orthopedic spine or neurosurgical clinical experience
• Must be BLS/ACLS/PALS certfied
• Must have a valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant in any state

Schedule for Physician Assistants in Neurosurgery

• Monday through Friday
• Operational hours are 6 AM to 11 PM
• You may be scheduled at any time within that window for anywhere from 8 to 12 hour shifts.
• You will not be required to work more than 40 hours per week

Job duties for Physician Assistants in Neurosurgery may include but are not limited to:

• Work independently and work collaboratively with physician, resident, physician assistants and nurses in the management of complex neurosurgical problems
• Develop treatment plans for neurosurgical conditions
• Perform as a first assistant on all neurosurgical procedures
• Conduct hospital rounds
• Coordinate discharge plans
• Examine new clinic patients and complete histories/physical examinations for neurosurgical conditions
• Provide health education to patients and families
• Interface with local, state, and federal agencies responsible for alternate care
