Your role and responsibilities:

As a process engineering intern, you will work within our Manufacturing Engineering Team to implement production system continuous improvements and complete various engineering projects in our production facility. As part of this role you will also:

1. Generate detailed manufacturing process instructions,

2. Organize spare parts lists in preparation for inventory system upgrade,

3. Create facility layout drawings in AutoCAD, and

4. Have the potential to travel to an industrial steel-making facility!

What is required for this role:

• Pursuing a Mechanical, Industrial or Automation degree in engineering or engineering technology from an accredited program (with 2 years completed)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote
• Strong documentation skills, understanding of engineering principles, problem solving, and analytical skills
• Proficiency with structuring, organizing, and managing projects
• Mechanically inclined, experience with hand tools, and measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
• 2D CAD drawing skills using Inventor (preferred) or SolidWorks (3D modeling experience a plus)
• Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is a plus, but not required
• Intrinsically motivated, with the ability to work independently
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work skillfully with others
• Able to successfully complete a background check and drug screen
• Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer internship period
