Job Description :

The Project Manager supports Beemok Hospitality Collection (BHC) with direct project management of multiple capital projects and must have a strong understanding of the construction industry and its role in both a hospitality and luxury environments. The individual will have the ability to understand complex tasks that need to be completed on a strict timeline within a coordinated budget. Strong communication skills to articulate project details, timelines, and any deviations from schedule or design is a must. Candidate must be able to work with multiple concurrent projects effectively while appropriately following direction and staying organized. Must be a strong unifier of ideas and people while collaboratively getting things done.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Technical knowledge and experience with Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing systems found in the typical hotel, retail and food service environment.
  • Strong understanding of major and minor project flow from inception through closeout.
  • Monitor budget and help ensure resources are used efficiently.
  • Maintain change order logs.
  • Assist Project Manager(s) and Estimators soliciting subcontractors and material vendors for project bids.
  • Attend and lead coordination meetings with owners and project teams.
  • Assemble and maintain complete project records and close-out documents.
  • Perform project punch-list inspection.
  • Must have the ability to work on multiple, fast-paced projects and effectively manage construction documentation requirements throughout and upon project completion.
  • Organize and monitor schedules and see that deadlines are met.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in an applicable field of studies such as architecture, engineering, interior design, construction, real estate development, hospitality management, or other relevant fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the disciplines of architecture, engineering interior design, construction management, real estate development within the hospitality industry.
  • Proven ability to read and understand full architectural and engineering construction documents, specifications, construction submittals, etc., to ensure the design and construction of the project meet design & construction guidelines.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously in a complex, service-intensive, deadline-driven environment.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Demonstrate clear leadership skills and the capability to motivate and manage a cross-functional team including external resources.
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills, with the ability to take large volumes of complex information and present it in a clear and concise manner appropriate for senior management decision-making.
  • Consistent attention to detail, with an understanding of high-quality product and an ability to value engineer without compromising design intent or quality.
  • Collaborative mindset that listens to others and effectively, comprehends information, creates timely information flow throughout the organization while building strong relationships to leverage information and insights to anticipate and respond to project risks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to sell ideas persuasively; settle differences and win concessions without damaging relationships. Can be both direct and forceful while remaining diplomatic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and knowledge of Bluebeam, Procore, PlanGrid preferred. AutoCad would be an asset. Desire to learn new technologies as required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to be responsive and balance priorities, work activities and resources, in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Results oriented and demonstrates balanced judgment under pressure.
  • Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and absolute discretion with sensitive information.
  • Ability to travel depending on location and intensity of projects.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Spend long periods of time outdoors on project sites, touring jobs, and the dexterity to maneuver through active construction areas.
