Alicat Scientific has been manufacturing and servicing high quality mass flow and pressure devices since 1991, and we have grown every year for over 20 years. Each instrument is a custom made building block that might be employed in support of space rockets, hydrogen fuel cells, medical oxygen delivery systems, environmental monitoring stations… or anywhere precision gas instruments can advance science and industry.

Job Summary

The test engineer will develop and execute test plans as needed for any facet of product performance, from the first product concept, through design and production, until the product is no longer sold. Tests may target the entire device or a single component and may require characterizing electrical, mechanical, and/or overall performance. No two days or projects are ever the same.

Essential Functions

• Develop and execute test plans to ensure products meet design, specification, and reliability requirements in electrical, mechanical, and software designs.
• Design, build and implement automated test processes
• Collaborate with the design team to influence and continually improve product design
• Generate test reports with data analysis
• Support manufacturing with troubleshooting designs should issues arise

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering/scientific field or 2+ years related engineering experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in programming in LabView, Python, or C#
• Strong understanding of analog and digital-based circuitry and troubleshooting
• Can prototype and run your own tests, from experimental setup to hardware and software implementation
• Data and statistical analysis
• Resourceful, curious, and never satisfied with the status quo
• Thrives in a fast-moving environment and can work independently
• Strong work ethic and detail-oriented
• Love learning and being challenged
• Strong written and verbal communication
