Job Description :

GKM, located in Nashua NH, provides foodservice to Colleges, Schools, Hospitals, and Hotels. We are looking to bring on a Regional Manager of Operations who will be responsible for managing the service delivery process.

Overview:

The Regional Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of each location within their assigned region. This includes setting up all aspects of a new account and location, hiring and training staff, managing vendor relationships, coordinating purchasing and delivery while staying on budget, and ensuring that all locations comply with the quality standards set by GKM. The Regional Operations Manager should also strive to maximize employee retention through job satisfaction and support.

Duties:

NEW ACCOUNT SETUP

  • Set up onsite operational elements of new food service accounts, including facility assessment, hiring needs, POS installation and training, and any other onsite requirements to meet SLA requirements.
  • Establish accounts with new or existing suppliers for new locations.
  • Identify areas specific to this location that need to be documented and incorporated into standardized practices for quality assurance, contract compliance, and health and safety measures.

TRAINING, ORIENTATION, & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Interview, hire, and train all staff for each location within the assigned region.
  • Make sure all staff are made aware of performance standards during both initial training and via routine trainings throughout the year.
  • Guide new employees through the primary training modules at GKM: Trainual, ServSafe certification, and Allergen certificate

NON-LOCAL ACCOUNTS

  • Travel to non-local locations for initial account setup activities, up to and including the go-live date.
  • Work closely with Kitchen Managers for non-local accounts to help resolve problems, anticipate needs, and to provide accountability for ensuring smooth operations.

GENERAL

  • Review associate timecards in Paychex to ensure there are no missing clock ins / clock outs; for non-exempt staff, make sure any overtime has been pre-approved and provide corrective measures where unapproved overtime has been taken; approve timecards in a timely manner for payroll.
  • Set up employee schedules according to facility and contract requirements; coordinate and execute contingency plans to modify daily schedule.
  • Meet with and members of the team on a weekly basis to execute L10 meetings, celebrate successes, answer questions, remove obstacles, and help set them up for success.
  • Oversee purchasing of supplies, supply budget, food inventory, labor costs, and other needs for each location; submit invoices for all account purchases.
  • Incorporate QA documentation from onsite staff into the SOPs for that location; create new training where necessary to make sure all staff are aware of both GKM standards and those of the customer.
  • Menu creation: cycle menus as well as à la carte options; assist with account proposals; maintain plate costs; review client dietary needs.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with Food Service Management, with 5+ years of management experience
  • Experience with food service operations, or restaurant operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, motivated, self-starter
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Preferred but not required: Culinary degree, Bachelor’s degree in related field

Schedule: This position will require travel between Nashua, Lowell, and Boston general area. A general working day would be Monday through Friday, 9AM–5PM

Compensation and Benefits: $70k to $80k base compensation, commensurate with experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
