The Boeing Company is looking for a Release Train Engineer to join our team working the P-8 Mission Systems (MS) Software, Integration & Test organization (SWIT) in Kent, WA . We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a passion for coaching teams and programs to transform.

In this position, the candidate(s) will act as an Agile Champion for the ongoing transformation journey into Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The Release Train Engineer (RTE) serves as the organizational servant leader and facilitator for program events and activities for planning, executing, delivery and improvement, such as Program Increment (PI) Planning readiness and PI Planning events and activities. More specifically, success in this role requires the candidate to exemplify what quality looks like in a RTE through both coaching & operational outcomes.

This role shall focus on leading the P-8 Mission Systems ARTs in a SAFe Agile construct and exemplifying the Agile approach through solidifying standard methodologies. In time, and if outcomes are appropriate, a candidate in this role may transition to that of a Solution Train Engineer (STE), broadening the impact to the P-8 Mission Systems and the program.

Position Responsibilities: Level 2

Supports preparation, development, coordination, scheduling, and change management activities of maintaining an integrated plan to meet program and/or project requirements in accordance with project management industry standards

Participates in maintaining, analyzing and producing metrics related to plans

Assists more experienced personnel with risk assessments, developing mitigation plan and refining the business case

Develops, collects, organizes and provides data, updates task, to maintain status of programs, schedule, customer and supplier commitments and compliance

Coordinates document work statements and resulting schedules

Identifies and provide reports on performance variances, project status, change information to project team

Communicates plan changes and recovery plans to ensure commitment to stakeholders

Position Responsibilities: Level 3

Independently develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains an integrated plan and schedule to meet program and/or project requirements in accordance with project management industry standards

Performs studies, analysis (trend, variance, impact), risk assessments to determine impacts, and constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives

Creates schedule, reports, metrics, change activity, communicates and updates plan regularly throughout lifecycle of program or project

Works to improve project management processes, business systems, and implement best practices that support project decision makers

Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion

Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives

Assists customers to develop performance recovery plan and ensure all project control systems are in place to support ongoing support to stakeholders

This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor degree and 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.)

3+ years of experience do you have acting in Agile leadership roles of Project Manager, Scrum Master and/or Release Train Engineer

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
6 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

1+ years of RTE experience operating in an Agile Development environment

Experience fostering both an architectural & design runway within a portfolio

Experience with software development life cycle & artifacts therein

Experience coaching in highly matrixed organizations including highly diverse technology environments

Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1 years' related work experience, 7 years' related work experience, etc.).

Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range for Associate Level: 73,950 – 100,050
Summary pay range for Experienced Level: 93,500 – 126,500
