Brief Description of Duties: The Research Accountant provides all accounting support for the research program in the Department of Pediatrics. This includes developing budgets for proposals, tracking expenditures and balances of active research accounts, monthly reconciliation of grant accounts (maintain internal spreadsheets and reconcile with Research Foundation Report Center), monthly reconciliation of grant checking accounts, preparing projections as requested by investigators, monthly tracking of research coordinator effort on Endocrinology clinical trials to assure billing to proper accounts, maintaining support for Pulmonology research coordinators from a combination of grants and clinical trials, provide research financial information to Department Chair as requested, provide research financial information to Sponsored Projects Services as needed.

Qualifications: Five or more years’ experience in a research/academic environment.

Experience in Pre- and Post-Award grant management. Accounting education or experience with Computer literate within Windows environment including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, Internet browsers and Adobe Acrobat

Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, business management, finance or a related field.
