This is a year round position that is full-time for four weeks in June and July, part-time the rest of the year, with the winter as a slower time for evaluation and planning. Residency season begins in March and ends in November.
Position Overview
Art Omi seeks a Residency Program Coordinator to support five international residencies for writers, translators, dancers, choreographers, musicians, artists, and architects. We are seeking a people person, someone personable and mature, with strong emotional intelligence, warmth, humor, and curiosity who appreciates serving others with gracious and radical hospitality, and operates from an ethos of inclusion and belonging. The Residency Coordinator is the on-site point person for each of the five residency programs at Art Omi. Under the supervision of the Co-Executive Director, the Residency Coordinator is responsible for supporting all five Residency Directors and the program participants, and liaising with other departments to ensure all residency-related programming runs smoothly, and that all staff are working to foster a positive experience for every resident.
The Residency Coordinator is the vital link between programs and departments in support of the residency programs. The Residency Coordinator supports residency-related administrative activities depending on each program’s needs and specific format; the five residencies function in unique ways and needs will vary. The Residency Coordinator will have responsibilities that are consistent across all residencies, including house management during and between programs.

Major Areas of Responsibility
The overarching aim of this position is to act as the primary onsite resource to meet the needs of artists in residence throughout their stay, to care for their wellbeing, and to ensure their experience at Art Omi is as positive as possible.

Work Environment
What follows is a general description of expectations for the work environment. We are open to making modifications to support people of all abilities whenever feasible.
This position averages 20 hours per week over the year depending on season, except in June and July when 40 hours a week are required. Work takes place primarily indoors, including carrying light equipment and groceries, with some work taking place outdoors. The candidate must be able to work some weekends and evenings onsite at Art Omi related events. This position is often within a fast-paced, energetic, environment with stationary periods.
