Summary of Responsibilities

The Sales Executive is responsible for generating new Enterprise (Asset and Non-Asset serviced) accounts for Leonard’s Express, Inc. through the identification, qualification and onboarding of potential and new customers. The Enterprise Sales Executive is a tenured and trusted advisor for Leonard’s clients’ transportation needs and is responsible for creating long standing relationships and multiple revenue streams for Leonard’s Express.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The Sales Executive plays a role in the ongoing functions of the Company. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs. The key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Consults and develops strategies with potential customers through phone, virtual, and in-person meetings on transportation
  • Develops, maintains, and manages new client relationships with large customers requiring multiple service lines from Leonard’s Express
  • Drives new account acquisition and growth through prospecting and sourcing
  • Effectively builds and maintains relationships across various internal departments related to the enterprise business and operations
  • Develops, facilitates and negotiates the proposal pricing process to customers alongside internal pricing and operations teams
  • Facilitates the onboarding process of clients and manages transfer of relationship to Enterprise Account Management team
  • Develops proficiency of use on applications within Leonard’s technology ecosystem to manage individual day to day operations and reporting requirements

The key accountabilities of the position include:

  • Expert understanding of Leonard’s Express services and capabilities
  • Client/Logo acquisition via Leonard’s sales process
  • Pipeline management and reporting out to leadership and relevant operations teams
  • Manage the customer handoff process to Account Management
  • Sales goals attainment, including
  • Load volume
  • Revenue
  • Leonard’s services utilized

Requirements

Key Skills and Competencies

Based on the essential and other duties and responsibilities of the position, the Sales Executive should have a number of professional skills and abilities:

  • Familiarity with common trucking industry terminology and transportation trends
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills, well-developed verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work both as an individual contributor and a team member
  • Sound organizational, records management and time management skills, plus excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities, meet assigned deadlines, and manage related stress
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate with a team

Key Qualifications

Based on the technical and professional responsibilities of the position, the Sales Executive is required to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with systems such as TMW, Microsoft Office products, load and truck posting boards
  • Strong work ethic
  • Competitive nature

Physical and Environmental

The Sales Executive is primarily located in a climate controlled office environment with moderate noise levels, but may experience other physical environments while traveling. Physical requirements include:

  • Using computer hardware and software for extended periods of time (repetitive motion)
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally

The annual salary for this position starts at $50,000 based upon education and experience plus monthly production incentives and bonuses.
