As a full-line manufacturer of metal and HDPE plastic drainage products, Lane Enterprises, Inc. operates 11 plants throughout the East Coast, producing corrugated metal and plastic drainage pipe for the construction industry. We are currently hiring a Sales Representative to support and develop business in Bath, New York. This position reports to the Area Manager.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a sales role in manufacturing or construction
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers.
  • Results orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing to travel 80% of the time

Essential Job Duties, Responsibilities, and Expectations:

  • Promote and sell Lane’s products in assigned territory consistent with company objectives
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of Lane’s products, product information, specifications and pricing guidelines. Be able to read plans, do accurate take-offs and simple sketch drawings.
  • Work with engineering personnel in corporate office and Pulaski plant in developing drawings for product promotion and fabrication.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers and solicit orders.
  • Call on consulting engineers sand public agencies to promote Lane’s products and to improve or maintain favorable specifications.
  • Within established guidelines, provide technical assistance to customers and other Lane Sales Representatives in supporting commercial objectives.
  • Use discretion in exercising pricing latitude to achieve Lane’s commercial objectives at the highest reasonable price.
  • Develop quotes and prepare submittals.
  • Maintain a high degree of awareness regarding Lane’s competitors, their apparent plans and tactics, and keep team informed.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records and files to aid in efficient and effective territory coverage and customer relations.
  • Provide job site support as necessary.
  • Maintain and promote harmonious working relationships with customers, office and plant personnel.
  • Selectively support trade organizations which, in turn, use and/or promote Lane’s products.
  • Other duties as assigned.
