Job Description:

Herkimer College seeks qualified applicants for a Senior Accountant. This full-time, on campus position provides intermediate level accounting services in accordance with New York State System of Accounts and generally accepted accounting principles.

Major Responsibilities include:

• Reconciliation of unrestricted ledger balance sheet accounts
• Reconciliation of student financial aid restricted fund ledgers
• Auditing of accounts payable transactions
• Daily monitoring of cash and other clearing accounts
• Maintenance of Banner tables (user permissions, detail codes, approval queues)
• Banner new user training
• Daily update of credit card receipts activity in reconciliation document
• Preparation and posting of adjusting journal entries
• All other work as assigned by the Controller

Requirements:

Minimum Required Experience and Educational Credentials:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Ellucian Banner experience preferred
