Job Title - Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Ensure complete, timely, and accurate accounting and reporting of international accounting results. This involves interacting with remote personnel and third-party accounting firms that provide local accounting services, communicate and coordinate with a variety of internal departments, translate accounting data which may require sporadic research to ensure compliance with local statutory guidelines and/or US GAAP reporting, and accurate currency exchange conversions.

Key areas of responsibility

• Obtain documentation from various departments and local accountants to record financial activities for foreign operations in Norway, Argentina and other locations as needed.
• Review financial statements of international operations for reasonableness and obtain/prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Provide overview of intercompany transactions for proper accounting such as inventory transfers, wire transfers, etc.
• Prepare and assist with intercompany reconciliations.
• Obtain an understanding of revenue recognition applicable to international operations and apply judgement when evaluating results of these operations.
• Translation of accounting data which includes sporadic research to ensure compliance with local statutory guidelines and/or US GAAP reporting, and accurate currency exchange conversions.
• Maintain fixed assets, including monthly additions, retirements, transfers, depreciation and recording related journal entries as needed
• Reconcile the fixed assets subledger to the General Ledger monthly.
• Maintain inventory subledger updated for additions, consumption, scrap, shrinkage, revaluations, and coordinate quarterly physical counts.
• Overview of Accounts Payable: Evaluate appropriateness of vendor invoices, and incurred liabilities for proper accounting.
• Make sure all necessary accruals are booked for correct month.
• Perform internal controls testing as requested
• Participate in various job duties/responsibilities and special projects as directed or determined on own initiative
• Support and uphold HS&E policies and procedures of NCS and the customer
• Align individual goals with NCS corporate goals, while adhering to the NCS Promise
• Participate in your Personal Development for Success (PDS)
• Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required, advanced degree or certification a plus
• Fluent in Spanish
• Minimum 3 years of accounting or audit experience; experience with international accounting and accounting in a manufacturing environment a plus.
• Strong work ethic, dependable, positive attitude, effective communicator with a history of collaboration and problem solving
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (advanced in Excel)
• Experience in Oracle related software, desired

Office Setting Positions:

Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
