Crisler CPA, PLLC is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Brentwood, TN office. The Senior Tax Associate will focus on tax engagements for the firm’s individual and business clients, supervising junior tax staff and coordinating with accounting and administrative personnel, working on tax engagements of basic to moderate complexity, and participating in process improvement initiatives. This position involves regular client contact and requires good client service skills, including the willingness and ability to recognize and respond to opportunities to provide expanded or new services to clients. This position involves participating in tax advisory services to clients principally through gathering relevant information, performing research and drafting memoranda.

Crisler CPA adopted a flexible remote work policy in spring 2020. With the exception of certain administrative positions, all employees are eligible to work remotely on a full- or part-time basis, subject to employee preference and management approval. Currently, two-thirds of the firm's staff work remotely on a full- or part-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engagement letters, change orders, time budgets and schedules; coordinate work schedules, information needed and deliverables; monitor and report on engagement status; and maintain open lines of communication with clients regarding planned, ongoing or prospective service opportunities.
• Set appointments with clients and assemble information to prepare or arrange for the preparation of federal, state and local returns.
• Prepare federal, state and local tax returns and answer tax-related questions for clients with the assistance, and under the supervision, of mananging tax personnel, working diligently to resolve questions regarding the appropriate treatment of routine to moderately complex tax return matters.
• Able to work independently, make decisions on ordinary tax matters, and produce a consistent amount of valuable work.
• Maintain control of time and charges. Recommend prices to billing manager.
• Perform basic to moderately complex tax planning, research, and consulting engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and Licensed CPA or exam-eligible CPA-candidate.
• Minimum 4 years of recent public accounting experience.
