Avoca Search is assisting Optum (a division of United Health Group) in their search for an exciting leadership role. This Senior Director, Care Transformation role within SSM Health can be remote and requires regular travel to St. Louis, MO. The Senior Director will lead multifunctional teams to implement savings for SSM Health through productivity enhancements, physician practices optimization and length of stay reductions. They will guide the organization through financial turnarounds, enhancing workforce processes, productivity and optimizing clinical care. The Senior Director, Care Transformation will lead the development, implementation, and long-term management of Optum’s Inpatient Care Transformation solution for strategic client partnerships. The Senior Director is responsible for leading a team of professionals in both remote and onsite client work and serving as the coordination point across all functions of the transformation program including analytics, improvement initiatives, project management, change management, physician alignment, results management, executive reporting, and performance sustainability. The Senior Director will partner closely with client executive clinical and operational leadership to ensure the partnership results are achieved and sustained.

Ideal candidates will have seven years of consulting experience in hospital performance improvement; a history of driving initiatives and achieving performance goals across complex organizations; and a proven track record of building and influencing relationships with external and internal executives and stakeholders, as well as leading, influencing and managing a large matrix workforce.

Candidates will also have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and the ability to travel routinely to hospitals for meetings and to Optum offices as needed. In addition, full Covid vaccination is also an essential requirement of this role.
