Job Description :

Position Summary:

This role is part of the plant management team and has a broad range of technical responsibilities including: project management, production support, continuous improvement, plant maintenance, and plant engineering. This position uses continuous improvement, plant engineering, and preventative/predictive maintenance methodologies to drive significant improvements in manufacturing efficiencies.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance, training, and development for setting multi-year operational targets and help drive improvements to achieve those targets
  • Responsible for overseeing development, planning, and execution of small and large capital projects for plant operations. Responsibilities include: defining project scope, developing solutions, and partnering with vendors, consultants, and contractors to develop and install projects. Drive schedule to accomplish projects on time and within cost estimate
  • Lead team in the identification of production and process changes, partner with operations leadership to develop and implement engineering improvements, resulting in greater operational efficiencies
  • Set vision and practice for maintenance function regarding preventative maintenance program. Drive continuous improvement in maintenance program leading to predictive maintenance model
  • Ensure vision is set and resources available to strategically develop technical skill sets for maintenance staff; partner with Human Resources to establish clear employee development programs and external talent pipelines for skilled trades
  • Manage a portfolio of lean projects directed at reducing waste and improving quality to provide greater value; implements such tools as: 5S, KPI, SMED, VSM, and Kaizen.
  • Train and lead cross-functional continuous improvement teams including advancement of the understanding of lean principles (TPM) and techniques; focusing on measurable quality, service, and cost improvements
  • Other duties, as assigned

Education And Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical)
  • 8+ years’ Engineering experience (Project, Process, or Plant)
  • Must have previous experience managing multiple large projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • The role has the potential to travel 25% of the time to conduct audits/interactions at our operating locations in North America

Preferred Education, Experience, And Skills:

  • 15+ years Engineering experience
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification and strong LEAN Manufacturing expertise: 5+ years with black belt
  • 3+ years’ experience in food manufacturing
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Previous experience with Auto CAD
  • Strategic planning skills

Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 8+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to balance, bend, crouch, kneel, stand, stoop, walk, reach above shoulders, and ascend/descend ladder for 3+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in low/high temperature, noise, hazards, outdoor elements, ventilation, confined spaces, etc.
  • Must be able to operate a computer or other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
  • Must be able to express or exchange ideas and concerns with co-workers and customers daily

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
