Senior Software Engineer (Aviation-Desktop)
Location: Fargo, ND or Remote (Central Time Zone Preferrable)
Position Summary

Looking to develop something other than just another CRUD application? This might be the position for you. As the technical lead for the suite of desktop tools in the AIRS ecosystem, applicants should have a strong understanding of .NET and WPF along with familiarity of C++ and interop. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-driven and flexible individual with a passion for both desktop software development and aviation. This individual will coordinate with a cross-disciplinary software team to help make solutions that work well from embedded software to the desktop to the cloud.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with design and estimation of new features, identifying areas of risk and architectural improvements
• Coordinate work with other developers
• Develop and maintain Windows desktop applications using WPF and C#
• Develop and maintain installation strategies
• Assist in maintenance of legacy desktop application in C++
• Work requires occasional travel to meetings, site visits, and conferences

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in the .NET ecosystem
• Minimum 3 years experience in WPF
• Preferable: experience with C++, interop, and Win32
• Preferable: experience with authoring installers
• Bonus: knowledge of video container formats
• Bonus: experience with graphics development
• Bonus: experience with binary parsers
• Bonus: UX skills
