Senior Systems Administrator

Growth-oriented IT support services company located in San Diego is seeking an experienced System Administrator with knowledge of Microsoft server and client technologies, Azure/Office 365, network, and troubleshooting skills. This position is full-time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Server and Active Directory structure, Azure/Office 365, and an understanding of networking and protocols.

• Server migrations, upgrades, and new server deployments
• Onboarding new clients, RMM and advanced endpoint security deployment and management
• Support LANs, WANs, Wifi, VLANs, and Internet
• Make recommendations for future customer upgrades
• Maintain network and system security
• Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues
• Evaluate and modify system performance
• Design and deploy networks; maintain network infrastructure such as firewalls, managed switches, wifi controllers, and VPN gateways
• Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, software deployment, security updates, and patches
• Manage multiple server backup systems and data/image recovery
• Support front line techs when they need to escalate more complex technical issues

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:

Information Technology certifications or related degree (preferred) OR similar experience required

• 4+ years of support experience in a production IT operations capacity.
• Proven experience with MS Windows 7 through 11. Experience managing and migrating to Office 365
• Proven experience with Windows Server 2012 through 2022 and Hyper-V/virtualization technologies
• Experience with firewall technology, switching, and routing
• Experience with Microsoft 365/Azure AD/Intune/Sharepoint preferred
• Experience with AWS workspaces/servers preferred
• Highly collaborative, self-motivated, seeks new knowledge, and strives to innovate where possible
• Some weekend/night work may be required for maintenance, migrations, and installations
• Minimal "in-town" travel to customer locations as required
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changes quickly

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
