Pacifica Graduate Institute – Shuttle Driver

Job Title: Shuttle Driver (with some security duties)

Hours Wednesday-Sunday 2:30pm-10:30pm

Supervisor: Associate Director of Campus Operations

Status: Fulltime

Compensation: $17-$18 hr. depending on license.

*paid training to obtain commercial driver’s license.

SUMMARY

The shuttle driver supports the operational side of the institute by providing transportation, fulfilling some “security” functions, and supporting other departments as needed. The primary role is to transport students and employees between five designated locations in the Carpinteria/Montecito area. Occasional driving duties out of the area for fieldtrips and special events. Additionally this role is responsible for locking of campus, routine inspections of campus, and supports the operational needs of the institute with related tasks supporting other operational departments, and distributing mail. This position also allows for quite a bit downtime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pick up and delivery of students, faculty, and staff as directed.
• Transport students for field trips.
• Transport vehicles for repairs.
• Maintain vehicle interior and exterior.
• Conduct DMV required walk around inspection of vans at beginning of each shift.
• Complete miscellaneous logs and paperwork as required by supervisor.
• Maintain a pleasant, respectful, and helpful attitude toward all passengers.
• Pick up, deliver, meter, and distribute post office and inter-campus mail.
• Carry out policies established by others.
• Work within existing rules and procedures.
• Respond to and assess reported facilities or campus emergencies outside of business hours.
• Lock/unlock campus doors, windows, etc.
• Execute all other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

Individual must have a clean driving record.

CDL with P endorsement license preferred.

- Candidates whom do not have the required license may be offered paid time to study for and use of company vehicle to acquire commercial license and/or passenger endorsement at no cost to them.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Positive personality.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and receive instruction in English.
• Clean driving record.
