Software Engineer III

Western Enterprises is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join our team. This position is an essential member of a small cross-disciplinary engineering team tasked with developing new products and maintaining the existing Meriam product line of measurement, calibration and communication equipment for industrial and medical markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Produce innovative, cost effective, and technically sound designs to meet or exceed customer requirements for a variety of products across several industries including medical devices (e.g. flowmeters), compressed gasses and fluids (e.g. precision pressure measurement equipment), and other professional products (e.g. HART communicators, Hydrostatic testers).
• Software design engineering, project management, and overall product development for the complete product lifecycle from concept to commercialization within the defined stage gate process.
• Responsibilities include identification of user needs, concept generation and selection, product design, specification development, verification and validation, pre-production planning, and post launch support.
• Implements improvements to current product designs and supports legacy products through sustaining engineering activities.
• Interfaces with customers and suppliers as required to resolve product and project issues.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and apply them to the position.
• Other related tasks as identified.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor degree in related field required.
• Graduate degree desired
• > 8 years’ experience preferred
