Remote Work: Hybrid

Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains automation test software for the organization's software development team. Performs system integration of software and hardware to maintain throughput and program consistency. Develops, validates, and tests: structures and user documentation. Work may be reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy. Follows established processes and directions.

Incumbent will be part of a dedicated team of software engineers responsible for maintaining and improving an existing automated test framework. You will support product software development teams to setup automated nightly builds and tests and troubleshooting any nightly build or test failures.

• Designs, develops and maintains automated software tests for features and functionality on a variety of Zebra products.
• Develops and tests documentation which describes the specific software functionality.
• Participates and provides some input in project code reviews and Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problem
• Runs software tests designed by more experienced engineers.
• Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems.
• Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Ensures compliance with quality process and standards.
• Makes changes to or upgrades existing software. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
• Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve productivity. – Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. – Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects, or assignments.
• May provide guidance to non-exempt personnel.
• Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
• Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters.
• Will develop new automated tests for new product features
• Manage/monitor/maintain test equipment and devices under test
• Help software automation team evolve automation tests, framework and overall system by exploring and evaluating new frameworks, tools, and technologies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline
• Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years or Master’s degree with no experience
• 2+ years programming Python, C/C++, or C#
• Software or hardware testing
• Git/Gerrit
• Good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years Python, C/C++ or C#
• Raspberry Pi, Arduino or other micro-controller experience
• Software experience: Jenkins, TestRail, ClearCase, PyCharm, Visual Studio, REST API
• Automation test script or framework development
• Knowledge of Networking/Network infrastructure
• Knowledge of Windows and Linux Operating systems
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• Willing to reach out to various team members to collaborate
• Strong desire to learn new technologies and techniques
• Some electrical or mechanical engineering knowledge
• Test fixture design
• Familiar with concepts of DevOps and CI/CD

Salary: USD 80300.00 - USD 120500.00 Yearly

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
