We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer for our Billings, MT location. This required duties for this position break down as:

40% - Complex Network implementation

30% - Design and Planning

20% - Technical Support to customers on network related problems

We work on a variety of IP based technologies including Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Ruckus, Fortinet, Meraki, Ubiquiti, and Avigilon. This position requires a motivated individual since we cover a wide range of technologies and expect each member of the team to develop into a subject matter expert in one or more areas.

Responsibilities and Duties

Perform all of the duties of a Network Engineer. Provide advanced level service support and assigned tasks on network systems and circuits, including problem resolution, technical change implementation and maintenance.

Evaluate and manage networks in relation to current and emerging technologies. Oversee and assist Network Engineers with designing, development, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network architecture including security, wireless, storage systems, voice, remote office connectivity and access, and DHCP services. Perform strategic analysis of network infrastructure, including utilization, bandwidth requirements, QoS requirements, and possible modifications to the environment to enhance performance.

Technical support will be delivered via telephone, remote, and one-on-one support within defined service level agreements for clients.

Qualifications and Skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Current Cisco Professional level certification required plus 5 years of experience after obtaining a professional level certification or an expert level certification with a minimum of 1 year of experience after obtainment
• Minimum of 5 years experience servicing, supporting, and troubleshooting network systems
• Minimum of 7 years experience in an IT environment
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a network design role with responsibility for hardware selection, architecture, and project planning
• Minimum 3 years experience with implementing, maintaining, and utilizing network monitoring systems
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a lead role for managing network infrastructure
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a lead role for implementing new network infrastructure projects
• MCSE or other vendor certifications preferred
• Bachelors degree in engineering, IT, comp science, or business preferred

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Proficient use of language when giving instructions in person, over e-mail and over the telephone
• Must demonstrate excellent time management skills
• Proficient knowledge of desktop operating systems, workstations, and basic server operating systems required
• Expert at troubleshooting network problems including quickly identifying and isolating problems then implementing appropriate solutions
• Expert knowledge of network hardware, including switches, routers, firewalls, network appliances required including the ability to evaluate the positioning and fit with business requirements
• Expert with the following technologies:
• Wireless (802.11a/g/n/ac, WPA, WEP, 802.1x)
• WAN technologies (Leased lines, GRE VPNs, DMVPN, PPTP, L2TP, and IPSEC based VPNs, MPLS)
• Security technologies (Firewalls, ACLs, NAT, IPS, IDS, RADIUS, TACAS+, IAS, VPN technologies)
• Routing (EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, NHRP, CEF)
• Switching (VLANs, LACP, Etherchannel, LAGP, 802.3ad, VTP, 802.1q)
• QoS Implementions in a LAN and WAN environment
• Network monitoring (SNMP, Netflow, SPAN, WMI)
• Packet capture and interpretation
• VoIP technologies
• Proficient with IT ticketing solution and change management procedure
• Proficient with developing network documentation and maintaining once completed
• Ability to work in a team environment and provide leadership as necessary to help the organization succeed
• Ability to provide mentoring to Network Engineers
• Ability to work inside a project team and follow project plans and guidelines under the direction of a project manager
• Ability to provide analysis of solutions and their fit with customer requirements
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to analyze a system for compliance with best practices, identify areas of concern, and develop recommendations to resolve the issues

COMPENSATION

Annual Salary: $93,500 plus commission based bonus
