Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Principal Agile Product Owner – Assessment and Authorization to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be expected to communicate and work closely with Agile Leadership and Program Management in direct support of the C2BMC ISSM, System owners, Agile Release Trains (ARTs), Operational ISSOs, Cyber peers, Program Office technical/management staff, and other C2BMC Functional Areas to ensure the C2BMC fielded system attains and maintains appropriate Authorization for Connection, Test, and Operational purposes.

Essential Functions:


  • The A&A Product Owner will plan, assign, status, and manage all Agile tasks across Iterations working collaboratively across the Cyber Engineering, Cyber Development, and Cyber Sustainment teams.
  • The selected candidate is expected to assist with Cyber Products analysis, Vulnerability mitigation, and POA&M Management to lead the A&A Agile Product Team in the successful delivery of eMASS Packages and Ports Protocols, and Services (PPS) in accordance with contract schedules.
  • Duties on an as-needed basis include: technical documentation, surge support for authorization packages in eMASS, assessing vulnerabilities, engineering responses for system POA&Ms, proposal support, Cost Account Management (CAM) interface, conducting risk analysis for Risk Acceptance Requests (RARs), and providing Cyber support to the C2BMC program and customer meetings.
  • Position physically located in Colorado Springs, CO. Up to 33% of time will be spent in the field primarily at the Schriever Air Force Base.

Basic Qualifications:

If applicable, please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume.

  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • 9 Years with Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 13 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAM Level III or higher (CISSP or equivalent).
  • The position requires security engineering skills with a working knowledge of Information Assurance (IA) technology, NIST standards, DoDI 8500.2, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security Controls.
  • The successful candidate must have experience in the Agile Development Lifecycle to include generating requirements, architecture design, configuring Cyber audit tools, conducting verification, and performing Cyber vulnerability, and Cyber configuration activities.
  • Significant leadership experience and effective interpersonal skills are required with a demonstrated ability to support complex organizational relationships.
  • Excellent technical document preparation and verbal communication skills are required for presentation of technical Cyber issues and reports to the Government, Program Management, and other C2BMC Functional Areas.
  • The position requires a strong working knowledge of Cyber capabilities such as patch management, multi-factor authentication, host-based security, intrusion detection, security event management, active/passive system scanning, and defense-in-depth.
  • Recent experience and familiarity with creating/updating Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for RMF Authority to Operate (ATOs) is required.
  • The selected candidate must have experience briefing senior level engineers/executives and demonstrate clear technical understanding for all pertinent scope

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent hands-on experience with Agile execution, tools, and methodologies is highly preferred.
  • Application experience hardening Windows and Linux servers and workstations in accordance with GPOs, IAVMs, and STIGs is desired.
  • Network design and software engineering backgrounds are a plus.

Salary Range: $117,900 USD - $176,900 USD


Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
