Job Description:

As our Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our clients' financial records, with a particular focus on tax-related responsibilities. You'll work with a team of like-minded individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality services. Job Responsibilities:

• Work directly w/ CPA on various client engagements (bookkeeping, payroll, Income tax, and advisory) across multiple industries
• Process payroll for small local businesses
• Process sales tax and quarterly reports (monthly, weekly, and annually)
• Assist with preparation of individual and business tax returns under CPA
• Assist CPA to advise clients on their taxes and payroll
• Provide bookkeeping/accounting for small businesses through QuickBooks or client provided software
• Tax season hours are normally 60+ hrs. per week
• Meet various deadlines that pertain to income, payroll, and sales tax

Qualifications:

• 1 year of experience in tax, accounting, payroll, or similar background (Preferred but not required)
• Degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA or EA (Preferred but not required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Understand tax concepts, practices, procedures
• Able to work under deadlines and manage client deadlines
• Strong understanding of the profit and loss statements as well as balance sheet
• Understand the relationship between assets, liabilities, and equity and how they interact with a client’s financial statement
• Work location: In office

Pay:

• $21 -$29/hr.
