Job Description :

The following provides a description for a new role to support the growth of our surfactant. The position is based in Richmond, Virginia and will report to the Chemical Applications Manager. The main focus of the position is to provide technical leadership for market-based product development activities. A key part of this position will be to develop and implement a technical plan to pursue new products and grow the business. Responsibilities include market focused projects in the nonionic surfactants business unit within the Chemicals Division.

The responsibilities will include the following:

  • Determine which nonionic surfactant products are used in key market areas, how they function, and the properties critical to performance
  • Develop and implement a technical plan for the optimal surfactant application areas and products to pursue
  • Identify market needs through customer interactions, industry events, and other industry sources; provide technical presentations and training as required
  • Coordinate with the Surfactant Sales Group to provide applicable data for marketing materials and work with the Corporate Design Group to craft the data into marketing literature
  • Identify and consult on the priority list for synthesis projects
  • Assemble regulatory needs for the customer base and key surfactant markets; collaborate with product stewardship to address these needs according to business importance
  • Collaborate on manufacturing needs for the nonionic surfactant business
  • Help identify business opportunities and justify any CAPEX related to projects
  • Monitor surfactant best practices and advances through trade show attendance and patent/literature reviews
  • Monitor competitor technologies and activities in these fields and maintain a competitive database of products

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
