Job Description :

As a member of the Leahy Center team, the major role of this position is to supervise a student team in setting up Internet of Things (IoT) networks in a lab environment, specifically focused on building a database of IoT artifacts. The primary focus is ensuring compliance with Leahy Center policies and allocating resources optimally. Will collaborate with faculty members to develop performance goals, then communicate these goals to student teams and align them with the project goals.

The Team Supervisor will directly oversee the work of our Internet of Things Researcher. They will work with a team of students in collaboration with Champlain College faculty to execute IoT objectives, scenarios, and test parameters. They will give specific task-related instructions to employees and monitor their progress.

Will monitor the IoT project to make sure it follows the requirements and standards set forth by the Statement of Work.

This position is a 3-year temporary position based on external funding. The role is 20 hours per week.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Ensure that employees complete their work on schedule and that the product meets the Leahy Center quality standards.
  • Hire, schedule, train, and supervise student employees for the IT Managed Support Services team.
  • Establish policies and procedures for the team.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Electrical Engineering, Systems Administration, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, or related field.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • An ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences.
  • The ability to self-organize, be self-motivated, work autonomously, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
  • Experience in delegating duties to others.
  • As this position entails overseeing teams of college students, teaching experience, mentoring, or demonstrated experience leading teams is highly preferred.
  • Proven success on research projects; ex blogs, publications, etc.
