Position Title:

Tier 2 Network and Systems Admin

Position Summary:

Electric cooperative is seeking an experienced and talented Tier 2 Network and Systems Admin to add to its Information Services team. This individual will be responsible for the maintenance, design, and deployment of new and existing data and voice networks as well as design and implementation of any new networks as needed, including LAN and WAN elements.

Additionally, this position will support, monitor, and maintain core business systems related to the cooperative’s electric distribution network.

Essential Duties:

  • Deploy, maintain, and support network infrastructure
  • Install, support, and maintain technology systems
  • Assist in auditing or tracking of technology systems
  • Support Tier 1 IT staff in troubleshooting more complex technology issues
  • Identify, troubleshoot, solve, and document network connectivity and performance issues
  • Maintain and monitor all backup systems
  • Ability to identify, understand, and resolve potential technical issues
  • Stay current on emerging technologies
  • Assist the Manager of Information Services in Cyber Security functions
  • Help plan and execute Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity strategies
  • Perform on-call duties on a rotating schedule
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time and meet all requirements
  • Share Tier 1 responsibilities on a rotating basis

Qualifications/Professional Skills:

  • Windows Server & Desktop Environments
  • Linux Server & Desktop Environments
  • Mac experience
  • VMware familiarity
  • VOIP and SIP experience
  • Expert knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and security concepts
  • Highly developed organizational & troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate at both technical and non-technical levels
  • Strong desire to learn with an excellent attention to detail

Key Role Interactions:

  • Directed by requests from IT Supervisor
  • Responsive to requests from all staff levels

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology discipline from an accredited college
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working in the Information Technology field

Work From Home/Hybrid Working

  • This role may offer up to 10 hour per week of hybrid (Work from Home) working arrangement upon mutual agreement with the supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
