The VP, of Information Technology (VP-IT) provides vision and senior leadership to the Information Technology and Health Information Management functions and develops and oversees the implementation of strategies for managing and delivering high-functioning, cost-efficient IT services to Baltimore Medical System. The VP-IT participates in strategic decision-making, oversees budget coordination and compliance, coordinates long-range planning activities, and represents the customer in its external relationships. The VP-IT provides direct management for the Project Management, Infrastructure, Applications Data, and IT Operations functions. The VP-IT ensures that IT systems, policies and procedures, goals, and objectives are aligned with, and supportive of, the Organization’s business and strategic goals. Serves as the corporate Security Officer and is responsible for oversight of the BMS Security Management System is the designated contact for all HIPAA security matters and manages responses to any security incidents. The position reports directly to the President & CEO of Baltimore Medical System. It works closely with the Executive Team, Board of Directors, and center leadership in developing and driving information technology strategies across the organization. Communication skills are required outside the workgroup to facilitate work groups, resolve conflict, persuade, or negotiate. External communications involve the provision of a service, representing the organization at public meetings, and having the ability to deal with sensitive situations/information.
