Job Summary: This job is responsible for the Workers’ Compensation Program and administration, ensuring program conformance to applicable laws and regulations, preparing required reports, and monitoring and evaluating the program activities to ensure the delivery of quality services of the workers compensation program. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
· Plan, organize, administer and supervise the Workers’ Compensation Program, including and review and processing of claims and legal documents, participation in settlement negotiations, recommending loss control strategies, instructing staff on workers’ compensation issues, and ensuring conformance to applicable laws and regulations while maintaining a high level of customer service.
· Develop, recommend and implement workers’ compensation policies and procedures; recommend and implement goals and objectives.
· Monitor expenditures; determine the extent of the liability; establish reserves for anticipated costs on cases.
· Interface with physicians, attorneys, employees and management staff; make recommendations regarding medical aspects and make appropriate determinations and decisions; develop and coordinate return-to-work plans; coordinate and monitor rehabilitation plans for injured employees; evaluate results of return to work medical examinations and make appropriate determinations.
· Attend workers’ compensation hearings
· Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive inquiries and complaints; evaluate problems and take appropriate action to resolve issues/concerns; advise injured workers of their benefits
· Stay abreast of trends and innovations in the field of workers’ compensation administration and keep current on legislative and regulatory issues at the State and Federal Level.
· Report data to OSHA and manage and maintain OSHA logs
· As designated representative, attend and conduct meeting, and lead or participate in discussions regarding workers’ compensation issues.
· Complete required reports and records; authorize permanent and temporary disability compensation.
· Attend meetings as requested, record minutes, type them, and send them to all those involved. Create positive relationships with the management teams, safety committee, crew bosses, etc.
· Required to travel to various fields and warehouses from time to time
Education & Experience:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent Required, some College Education preferred but not required
· Prefer at least 2-3 years prior work experience

· High level of: word processing software, spreadsheet software, data entry & reporting software, internet researching, etc.
· General office equipment, strong ability in typing
Physical Abilities:
· Ability to occasionally perform various activities that require; sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pulling/pushing objects, grasp & reach
· Ability to speak clearly & communicate with others
· Must have good vision
· Ability to occasionally lift 20 lbs. from floor/ shoulder level

· High mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· High reasoning ability to solve practical problems with common sense approaches.
Workplace Environmental Conditions:
· Ability to tolerate potential harsh weather conditions for short or long periods of time in the warehouse and orchard environments
