Our firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting and financial reporting for our firm, and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for supervising the bookkeeping process in conjunction with outside service providers and also developing and maintaining accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a degree in finance or accounting, and must have experience managing a small office.

We are a small company with about 75 employees, so the accounting manager will be responsible for carrying out the accounting functions as well as managing the process. We have a team of 3 accounting clerks. This is a hands-on position.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees Accounting operations, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable and processing payroll.
  • Assists with recruiting and hiring Accounting staff and assist with conducting their performance evaluations.
  • Implements training for new accounting hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff.
  • Assists with discipline and termination of accounting employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
  • Trains & delegates effectively.
  • Conducts weekly accounting staff meetings to review any department “wins” and areas for improvement.
  • Prepares productivity reports for accounting staff and makes recommendations on for staffing levels.
  • Able to backup all accounts receivable, accounts payable tasks.
  • Achieves high workforce productivity with high customer service satisfaction while ensuring department overtime costs are low.
  • Department deadlines consistently attained.
  • Processes “Payments to Deposit” reconciliation of daily cash receipts in USA and Canada QuickBooks.
  • Reviews “missing” timekeeping entries and email staff with cc: manager.
  • Adjusts time keeping record as requested by employee upon note made on time record.
  • Handles bi-weekly payroll processing for three corporations – two in USA (Chrisad, Inc. and Yorad, Inc.) and one corporation in Canada (one employee).
  • Pays monthly Canada payroll tax amounts.
  • Remits Fidelity 401k plan contributions.
  • Generates monthly web bonus report to process with first of the month payroll.
  • Assists with bank reconciliations.
  • Prepares of sales tax reporting for USA and Canada.
  • Reviews FM accounting ticket dashboard to ensure tickets are completed timely and assists as needed.
  • Handles the client collections process.
  • Backs up accounting staff as needed.
  • Assists with Human Resources administrative tasks.
  • Completes UI claims.
  • Provides design department with monthly list of birthdays.
  • Sends mailing quotes to clients as requested by Account Managers.
  • Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Provides Med125(POP) amounts due to HR for LOA’s.
  • Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.
  • Prepares meal premium and overtime reports and other managerial reports.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Work in Quickbooks, Heartland Hire (HRIS) and FileMaker.

Qualifications

  • Five years or more of related experience preferred and payroll processing experience required.
  • A proven track record of building relationships.
  • A confident, passionate and persuasive approach.
  • The ability to follow through with clients and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel and G-Suite product line.
  • Degree in Accounting or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Resilient in stressful situations and always able to handle last minute requests.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work with any department to accomplish assigned tasks.
  • Ability to quickly problem solve and make sensible decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and recognition by others as a respected member of the team.
  • Must possess excellent attention to details, a high level or organization, and the ability to multi-task, follow through and re-prioritize well to meet deadlines on multiple projects.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Maintains regular attendance, is consistently on time and complies with all chrisad standards.
  • Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs.

chrisad is conveniently located within walking distance of the Larkspur ferry terminal with easy access from San Francisco, as well as the Smart Train station for those traveling from further north.
