Job Description :

The Company is seeking an Accounting Manager that can develop into a Controller, as the Company grows. The Accounting Manager will plan and direct the accounting operations of the company and will be responsible for the general ledger, payroll functions, accounts receivable and payable functions and tax filings. The ideal candidate is a savvy operational accounting professional who is constantly seeking out ways to improve processes, communication, policies, business partnerships, etc...

Responsibilities:

· Responsible for managing the accounting department including initiating new processes and procedures aimed at creating efficiency.

· Oversee all aspects of accounts payables, accounts receivables, and closely monitor cash functions.

· Ensure payroll is accurately processed and all related reporting and compliance requirements are met.

· Ensure proper job cost reporting of transactions, prepare monthly job costing and related journal entries.

· Work with operations to ensure job costing and job data is accurate and timely

· Prepare and analyze Work-In-Progress reports.

· Perform month-end closing, reconciliation, including analysis of operation costs and results.

· Issue monthly financial statements, perform analytical review to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained.

· Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.

· Maintain and improve current accounting systems, implement new modules.

· Provide in-service training and development of staff. Keep accounting function in step with the expansion and growth of the company.

· Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as requested as directed by CEO/CFO.

· Monitor cash balances and project cash flow.

· Responsible for management of tax compliance and regulatory reporting compliance in association with CPA..

· Ensure that all accounting activities and functions are met within set time frames.

· Develop and improve, monitor, and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· 8 - 10+ years of complex, progressive accounting experience

· Exceptional work ethic, strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

· Advanced decision making, analytical and problem-solving abilities

· Knowledge of Sage software strongly preferred

· Demonstrated knowledge with MS Office 365 products

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline strongly preferred

· 8-10 years of Finance or Accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry

· Sage accounting experience is strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $104,000.00 - $165,253.60 per year
