Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

· Design, install, & maintain automation systems throughout various production processes

· Focus automation efforts on increased process control, increased quality compliance, & reduced labor

· Program & maintain numerous machine tending & welding robot

· Design & develop QC systems for implementation into automated systems

· Design & install industrial control mechanisms for process monitoring

· Install & repair electrical components

· Perform routine inspections of industrial automation systems

· Optimize existing automation cells for maximum efficiency

· Operate using lean principles including adherence to 5S principals

· Communicate regularly with the team, both individually and as a group, to ensure good two-way communication concerning operational issues and flag issues / concerns to management

· Review the operation of equipment and systems continuously to minimize unplanned downtime, proactively solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement

· Initiate and carry out continuous improvement projects that improve efficiency and quality

· Assist with the development of cost & time study initiatives

Key Qualifications

· Strong background in Allen Bradley programming

· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, or a closely related technical field preferred; will consider applicable experience in lieu of degree

· Experience in a production environment, particularly automation technology

· Strong mechanical skills & background

· Process & results driven requiring minimal direction

· Ability to bring projects to successful conclusion

· CAD background a strong plus

· Knowledge and skill of measuring and inspection equipment

· Other duties as assigned.
