Job Description: We are looking to hire a candidate that is able to perform each essential duty with exceptional accuracy, attention to detail with organizational, analytical and communication skills. Duties:

• Process Accounts Payable: Verify our high weekly volume of invoices against corresponding purchase orders and packing slips, communicate with outside vendors for any invoicing or payment questions, communicate with project managers/employees for payment approval, post to accounting system including both general ledger and job costing, process checks, maintain vendor files.
• Manage company credit cards: process our vendor invoices paid by credit card, organize and maintain supporting receipts, reconcile, post and pay monthly statements for the many purchasing cards; process applications, review card limits and maintain related documentation.
• Compile payable and receivable records for sales tax, prepare and file sales tax returns (multi-state)
• Schedule and pay income tax payments
• Perform data entry of misc accounting and cost items.
• Track and renew all vehicle registrations and other vehicle related records utilizing Excel and manual files
• Reconcile, job cost and pay monthly EZPass Statement; maintain inventory of EZPass transponders
• Maintain vendor records, collect vendor Form W-9’s, prepare 1099 reporting records
• Perform bookkeeping and sales tax prep for our smaller related companies
• Complete credit applications requested by our vendors
• Reconcile petty cash
• Prepare misc spreadsheets and analyses as requested by accounting personnel
• Perform misc other duties as needed to assist in the accounting and administration department
• Additional accounting and general business assignment opportunities available, dependent upon individual’s qualifications

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ proven experience in a bookkeeping or entry-level accounting position that includes processing a high-volume of transactions, meeting multiple deadlines, assuring accuracy with detail, and multi-tasking
• Associates Degree (or working toward a higher degree) in Accounting strongly preferred
• Must be proficient in using Excel for basic accounting applications (hands-on assessment will be part of the interview)
• Past experience with construction bookkeeping/accounting a plus
