About Westwood Country Club

Westwood Country Club is a private member-owned Club just west of Tysons Corner Virginia in the beautiful town of Vienna. The Club offers a Gene Bates designed 18- hole championship golf course, fitness center, ten tennis courts (six of which are available year-round, under a bubble), an olympic-sized, heated swimming pool, baby pool, and a children’s center and Rec Room. The Club offers a variety of full-service dining rooms (including outdoor dining) and private rooms located throughout our expansive clubhouse. Westwood is currently undergoing a 12-million-dollar renovation and is currently on a wait list for members to join.

Brief Job Description

Westwood Country Club in Vienna, Virginia seeking a Dining Room Manager. The Dining Room Manager role is critical to the Club’s overall success. The Dining Room Manager works closely with the Sr. Food & Beverage Manager to ensure a quality dining experience for members and guests. The Restaurant Manager is a highly visible, “hands on” manager expected to engage with members and guests. This critical position focuses on exceptional talent acquisition and development, strong training, and daily execution providing members with an elite experience. This individual must embrace our culture of creating memorable experiences for our members and their guests while proudly representing our Westwood family.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

ü Attends and contributes to the weekly/monthly Food and Beverage departmental meetings.

ü Oversees and assists in service in accordance with the requirements and practices of the restaurant.

ü Strong leadership and member-service oriented floor presence

ü Accountable for maintaining consistent elite service standards

ü Ability to adapt to current trends.

ü Responsible for growing revenue and managing cost of goods in specific dining venues.

ü Detailed review of facility maintenance, cleanliness, and presentation

ü Trains staff on quality of service including body language, eye contact and proper verbiage. Seeks to constantly enhance the member experience through service and hospitality.

ü Maintain expansive knowledge of all wine, spirits, craft beers, and food trends.

ü Autonomy to “own” specific venue within the Club operation

ü Assist in preparing for and performing weekly inventory of all beverage department products, as required.

ü Earning and maintaining credibility as the leader of the operation

ü Open & closing responsibilities as needed.

ü Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Have a passion for F&B service and standards and establishing a positive family-oriented culture.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of wine and wine service.
  • Be highly motivated, detail-oriented and possess a positive hospitality-oriented demeanor.
  • Have a hands-on management style and is motivated by the success of his/her teammates.
  • Be on the cutting edge of F&B trends and understands balancing fine dining with upscale relaxed service.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, strong eye for detail and ability to hold teammates accountable.
  • Ability to communicate with members and guests in a professional manner.

Candidate Prerequisites

  • Advanced knowledge of Food and Beverage operations and preferably Club Essential POS systems
  • 1 to 3 years of high-end dining management experience, Private Club experience preferred.
  • Experience in successful team building and staff development is mandatory.

This is a Full – Time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week and open availability including mornings, nights, and weekends.
