Job Summary:

We are seeking an Engineer Level III for ongoing infrastructure projects that require a Civil engineering background. The level of the position will depend on the experience of the candidate.

The ideal candidate will typically perform multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the organization. They will oversee development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. They have broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems. May guide and train less experienced engineers. Focus will be construction quality of the California High Speed Rail program. Candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing an Authority level construction Quality Program. Results are subject to review.

We have full-time positions available in Sacramento, CA and Fresno, CA. Some travel may be required.

Job Duties:

  • Develop systems, process, and procedures needed to accomplish an Authority Level Quality Acceptance Program
  • Assist the Authority with a developing and implementing a Field Acceptance Inspection and Testing Program
  • Assist the Authority with a developing and implementing an Acceptance Source Inspection and Testing Program
  • Support existing QMS program
  • Monitor performance metrics, create dashboards
  • Develop processes, procedures, review of quality inspection and testing plans and reports and other documentation related to the QMS, acceptance, verification, validation and self-certification
  • Provide expertise on the creation, population, and maintenance of databases for tracking data, requirements, and activities critical to the QMS
  • Attend meetings with Authority and associated stakeholders as necessary
  • Provide additional support as requested by the Authority
  • Supervision/ManagementProvide supervision, guidance and mentoring for junior engineers in their day-to-day tasks

Manage milestones and ensure successful completion of tasks as assigned to Engineers

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering Required
  • Minor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License Required
  • 5-10 years of professional relevant experience required; a Master’s Degree in Engineering will be considered as one year

Skills & Abilities:

  • Effective written, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team involving staff, clients and outside agencies
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including identifying data quality issues
  • Strong organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize activities and work with limited supervision
  • Detail minded
  • Results oriented and able to complete tasks on deadline with little supervision
  • Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgment

Compensation:

$50 - $70/ Hour

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state’s law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
