Job Description :

Coastal Engineering is a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) with a staff of professional engineers and certified commercial divers, providing marine engineering, repair, and underwater inspection services. Coastal is seeking an Engineer Diver to join our team in Greenwood Lake, NY. This is a great opportunity for a motivated self-starter to join a rapidly growing engineering consulting firm.

Work will be conducted in both field and office settings, and some regional travel is to be expected. This position will combine structural inspection, report writing, underwater repairs, and design.

Job Duties:

· Perform & lead underwater inspections and related fieldwork.

· Condition evaluation of marine and W/WW structures (bridges, dams, water tanks/towers, etc.).

· Prepare deliverables including inspection reports and Priority Letters with repair recommendations.

· Prepare CAD drawings and repair designs.

· Offer instruction/assistance to technicians in preparing reports.

· Communicate with Project Managers and clients/stakeholders.

· Ensure understanding of routine and emergency procedures.

Required Skills / Certifications:

· 4+ years of marine structure inspection, design, construction, and/or repair experience.

· PE or ability to obtain one within 1 year.

· Familiarity with DOT/FHWA standards and procedures.

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.

· Dive Diploma from an ADCI accredited diving educational institution.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Current dive physical.

· Current ADCI certification.

· Current driver’s license.

· OSHA 10- or 30-hour certificate.

· Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.)

· Oxygen Provider, First Aid, CPR, & AED.

· Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam.

· Boat License a plus.

· NHI Underwater Bridge Inspection and/or 2-Week Bridge Inspection Course a plus.

· Confined space certification a plus.
