About the role:

Join Takeda as the Head of Rare Disease Product & Commercial Strategy where you will interact closely with RD DDU scientists, strategy leads and leadership, as well as allied functions within Takeda, to drive development of strategies that highlight the true value of RD DDU portfolio molecules to Takeda stakeholders. Areas of immediate application revolve around defining and socializing current product and commercial challenges, establishing partnership(s) with Takeda stakeholders and building, validating and socializing innovative approaches to placing real value on the potentially transformative molecules within the RD DDU portfolio. As the leader of Product & Commercial Strategy in the RD DDU, this highly visible role will support the objectives across Takeda's Rare Diseases product pipeline.

How you will contribute:

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and drive the overall Product & Commercial strategy and implementation roadmap across all Rare Disease internal and external stakeholder organizations
  • Assess plans, progress, roadblocks, risks, and interdependencies across each Pillar in the Rare DDU to ensure milestone achievement across cross-functional teams
  • Facilitate cross-functional decision making around strategies, and catalyze implementation of strategy across business units
  • Report to the Rare DDU Leadership Team, RSLT, RMC on achievement of key metrics, milestones, and strategic goals; highlight emergent opportunities/challenges to enhance the strategy and implementation
  • Resolve and escalate issues/roadblocks with oversight from the Rare DDU Leadership Team
  • Act as important contact point for stakeholders, internal and external
  • Follow Takeda's global governance processes
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders on program progress

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree required in life sciences and / or pharmaceutical fields and/or technology
  • Minimum of 10+ years industry work experience in pharmaceutical development, manufacturing, operations, finance, or program management required
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in a supervisory position
  • Experience with executive leadership and stakeholder presentations, engagement, and support
  • Experience managing company-wide transformation programs is required

  • Highly collaborative in style with peers and cross-functional stakeholders, whilst maintaining focus on project objective.
  • Experience managing complex partnerships working through matrix team models.
  • Previous experience leading small to medium scientific research teams and in influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders is an advantage.
  • Proactive, resourceful, self-motivated and excellent attention to detail.
  • Healthcare business acumen with an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
